Cynthia Barger, CPM

​Cynthia is a wife, mother, and Certified Professional Midwife.  She has eight children ranging in ages from 15-34 and and has had both hospital and home births with them. She has been married to her international airline pilot husband for thirty-five years and enjoys traveling with him when her schedule allows. They have six married children and 7 grandchildren, and still have two boys at home, ages 16 & 18 years old. The boys keep her busy with their extracurricular activities including basketball, camping, hiking, hunting, and flying.               

Cynthia's desire is to encourage women to understand the choices they have in birth and to assist them in planning for the birth they want, whether it be in the hospital or in a home setting. In 2010, Wichita Birth Assistance was born out of a vision that Cynthia had to grow the birthing community of Wichita by providing both education as well as access. It is also her desire to be proactive in strengthening relationships between families, doulas, and midwives, as well as those who are in the medical fields including doctors, nurses, and hospital administrations. We have a long way to go but we have made great strides.  .
