Trigger finger release surgery, or stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition caused by inflammation in the tendon sheath of the finger. This makes it more difficult for the tendon to move, causing the finger to become stiff or stay in a curled position. During the surgical procedure, the doctor makes an incision to cut open the tendon sheath, allowing for better movement of the tendon.
This procedure can be performed in-office for less complicated cases, but for more complicated cases, the doctor may request that you order an outpatient procedure performed in a surgery center or operating room. Please be sure to select the correct option when placing the order.
