A MRI scan with and without contrast is an imaging procedure that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create pictures of a certain body part from several angles. The doctor takes one picture naturally and another after injecting gadolinium-based dye (contrast) into the veins to enhance the image quality and allow the doctor more accuracy and confidence in the diagnosis.
