Gestational Diabetes Program (without insulin therapy) in Kansas

In the Gestational Diabetes Program, the patient will be educated in a timely manner to achieve and maintain blood glucose within target without insulin therapy for the duration of pregnancy and will receive postpartum education to maintain euglycemia or near euglycemia. Those who require insulin therapy, will be moved to Program #6 for remainder of pregnancy. Patients may then elect to follow either Program #1, #3 or #4 on an ongoing basis, depending level of metabolic control after delivery.
