A distal biceps tendon repair is a surgical procedure that involves reattaching the biceps tendon at the elbow bone after a tear, usually caused by a sudden injury. The distal biceps tendon connects the biceps muscle to the elbow bone. During the surgery, the doctor makes an incision on the inside of the arm just above the elbow. The area where the tendon pulled off from is carefully exposed and the avulsed tendon is retrieved from the arm.
