A cubital tunnel release is a surgical procedure that involves ulnar nerve decompression, and in certain cases, a transposition of the nerve. During the procedure, a 3-inch incision is made along the course of the ulnar nerve, and the roof of the cubital tunnel is opened to relieve pressure on the nerve. When the ulnar nerve is mildly compressed, cubital tunnel release surgery can relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve as it passes behind the elbow.
