A CT scan with and without contrast is an imaging procedure that uses electromagnetic waves from a large machine to provide multiple images of a certain part of the body. This procedure involves two sets of images being taken: one normally (before dye injection) and another after receiving a dye injection, so that the doctor can compare the views and look for abnormalities. The image after injection allows the doctor to get a more detailed view of bone, tissue, and blood vessels.
For a combined scan of the abdomen and pelvis, DO NOT order this service. Please search for "CT Scan of Abdomen and Pelvis with and without Contrast" instead.
