A CT scan of abdomen and pelvis with contrast is an imaging procedure that uses electromagnetic waves from a large machine to provide multiple images of the abdominal and pelvic areas. Patients receive a dye injection and substance (the contrast) before the procedure. This allows the abdominal and pelvic organs, bones, and blood vessels to be more easily seen, so that the doctor can identify any abnormalities.
