A cervical or thoracic facet joint injection (1 level) is a procedure where a physician injects medicine into or near a facet joint (one of the joints connecting two spinal vertebrae together) using imaging guidance. This is done to diagnose and treat spinal pain. This procedure is specifically for injections in the cervical (upper) or thoracic (middle) sections of the spine.
