Carpal tunnel release surgery involves making one or more small incisions in the wrist to cut the carpal ligament. Cutting this ligament enlarges the area called the carpal tunnel. This relieves pressure on the median nerve, which causes pain, numbness, and weakness of the hand.
This procedure can be performed in-office for less complicated cases, but for more complicated cases, the doctor may request that you order an outpatient procedure performed in a surgery center or operating room. Please be sure to select the correct option when placing your order.
