Bladder sling surgery for incontinence is a surgical procedure that involves the placement of a mesh sling under the bladder. This procedure is used to treat stress urinary incontinence that happens when physical movement or activity, such as coughing, laughing, sneezing, running, or heavy lifting, puts pressure (stress) on the bladder, causing leakage of urine. The mesh is made of donor tissue, your own tissue, or a synthetic compound.
